Nvidia Ambition to Rule Display Devices - As a manufacturer of graphics cards, Nvidia not only satisfied in the realm of computers. This Taiwanese manufacturer also has the ambition to master all the devices that have screens, including televisions.
Nvidia has indeed carved a long history of Graphic Processing Unit (GPU) technology on computer, and now they start to expand into the area of handheld devices starting with the presence of Nvidia's Tegra chipset.
The Nvidia effort to work on any smarphone market proofed by continuing to develop their technology, after success with Nvidia Tegra 2, now they ready to release their newest chipset, Kal-el.
"Kal-el is a breakthrough in mobile devices technologist, this chip has a quadcore cpu, 12 cores Nvidia GPU and its performance is 5X faster than Tegra 2," explained Jeff Yan, Senior Technical Marketting Manager of Nvidia, APAC.
Nvidia Tegra 2 itself claimed to be very successful in the market. According to Nvidia, since marketed on January 2011 up to now the chip is already shipped as many as 10 million units.
Well, not quite satisfied there. Nvidia also has ambition to deliver their products on electronic devices that have a screen.
"We are a visual company, and in the future we want all the devices having a display using Nvidia, including television," said Yan.
