As we know most of junk foods dominated by fats, sugars and processed foods, it could harm your children brain and later it will lower their IQ. Based on the research eating habits among three-year-olds shape brain performance as they get older, researchers said toddlers' diets could change IQ levels later in childhood, even if eating habits improved with age.
This is the finding of a study that was funded by the UK Medical Research Council, the Wellcome Trust and the University of Bristol. They noted the long-term health and condition of 14,000 children who was born in Great Britain in 1991 and 1992. Of the 4000 children for whom there were complete data, there was a significant difference in IQ between those who had the ''processed'' and the ''health-conscious'' diets.
The results gives a report that after taking account of potentially influential data such as family income and education levels, a predominately processed food diet at the age of three was associated with a lower IQ at the age of 8.5.
The 20 per cent of children who ate “junk food” had an average IQ of 101 points, compared with 106 for the 20 per cent who ate the most ''health-conscious'' food.
Researchers said good nutrition was crucial in the first three years of life when the brain grows at its fastest rate. If the parents not concern about it well and keep eating their kids with a diet packed with fats, sugar and processed foods that healthy food that contains vitamins and nutrients, it means they let their children brains never grow to optimal levels.
