Dennis Rodman Sentenced to Punishment of Social Work - Former NBA star Dennis Rodman was sentenced to undergo punishment social work as long as 104 hours in family court disputes. The punishment was imposed because Rodman failed to provide for his children.
Court Commissioner Barry Michaelson also punished Rodman informal probation of three years. Rodman was obliged to support his children and his ex-wife. "I suggest you to use your talents as a motivator, a good athlete, and a good person to help people in need," said Michaelson told Rodman.
The punishment was the end of a long feud between Rodman and his ex-wife, Michelle. Rodman's ex-wife sued for divorce in 2004. However, Rodman was threatened with other penalties because of contempt charges. Michelle's lawyer also said Rodman owes U.S. $ 800 thousand.
Responding to the verdict, Rodman said he was ready to do all kind of social work punishment near his home in Florida . "It's all about the kids," said 51-year-old man about two children from his marriage to Michelle. "It hurts, all end up like this."
Rodman was convicted by a judge on four charges related to child caring in 2009 and 2010. According to Rodman's attorney, Linnea Willis, four charges related to the obligation to pay U.S. $ 50 thousand for his children living. But, that obligation is currently whittled down to U.S. $ 4,500 for his children and former wife.
