The power of Hurricane Isaac weakened

The power of Hurricane Isaac weakened - Hurricane Isaac has so far killed at least 24 people. Tropical Storm Isaac slowly weakening but still causing heavy rain and flooding in several states in the southern United States.

Isaac status as a tropical storm likely will be decreased on Thursday night (30/08) when the wind is heading north toward Arkansas and Missouri.

Center of the storm has now passed New Orleans, seven years after Hurricane Katrina devastated the region.

Although its power weakened, but Isaac remained life-threatening because it can lead to high winds and flooding.

Rainwater rapidly increasing in the New Orleans area north forcing local government deploys buses and vehicles for the evacuation of about 3,000 residents.

On Wednesday, President Obama declared a state of emergency in Louisiana and Mississippi. This status makes the federal government could disburse funds to the government in the state.

Isaac has so far killed 24 people when passing through Haiti and the Dominican Republic this week.
