"The Protester", Time Magazine Person of The Year 2011 - U.S. leading magazine, Time, has been crowned The Protester as Person of the Year for 2011. The award was announced on Wednesday (14/12) with at once published a special edition.
This special edition cover featuring an illustration of an individual who most of his face covered by a hood and a scarf that covers the mouth and nose. According to Time, The Protestor has reference to all the people around the world who participated in the protests this year.
The Protester includes pro-democracy demonstrators from Arab countries such as Tunisia and Egypt, as well as United States citizens who protest against economic inequality in their country. Since 1927, Time named individuals annually for Person of the Year award.
Last year, the name of Mark Zuckerberg, founder and CEO of the popular social networking site Facebook and the world's youngest billionaire has been named Person of the Year in 2010. Zuckerberg managed to put the founder of whistle-blowing site Wikileaks, Julian Assange, who related the case of allegations of sexual harassment.
