Looking at this phenomenon, Facebook did not want to stay silent. Facebook created a program that is intended to prevent suicide by connecting their users to a counselor via chat. The program, launched yesterday allows you to alert the users who indicate suicide thoughts or action.
If your friend was posting comments relating to suicide, they could report it to Facebook by clicking the link that locates in next to comments. Facebook will send an email to the author comments that will lead to the telephone hotline or a clickable link to initiate a confidential personal chat.
This initiative illustrates that Facebook has a sense of responsibility towards the lives of users. This seems to support other programs, including "Suite of tools" which was introduced last March as a crackdown on cyberbullying. Facebook and its employees also support gay rights on Spirit Day.
